The Washington Wizards are set to be the second team this season to celebrate Filipino heritage on Monday, January 4th 2016 when the face off against the Miami Heat at the Verizon Center.
The celebration of Filipino culture is one of the many group theme nights that the Wizards hold all season long.
Defending champions Golden State Warriors were the first National Basketball Association (NBA) side this season to pay tribute to Filipino heritage, and were the first to wear Philippine-themed shooting shirts during the pre-game.
Though the Wizards themselves have no players with Filipino blood, they have the distinction of drafting Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson in the 2014 NBA Draft before sending him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
